Hawk Associates was founded in 1995 by Frank Hawkins, an investor relations professional with a background in espionage, international journalism and international business. From a single practitioner company, Hawk has rapidly grown into a full service international IR firm with clients in Asia, Europe and the United States.
For over a decade, Frank ran the investors relations program at Knight-Ridder, then a highly respected Fortune 200 company. The programs created and managed by Frank won all the major national investor relations awards, in some cases multiple times.
Frank believed that the fundamental principles of credibility, understanding and expertise would be particularly valuable in the small cap, microcap space, which has traditionally been polluted by short-term pump and dumpers and quick fix scam artists.
What the market needed was an investor relations firm that could function as an experienced strategic partner with the managements of small companies and provide strategic counseling as well as highly professional day-to-day IR support to help them build credibility and ultimately enhanced valuations. The basic concept was very simple. Provide traditional values and wisdom together with experience and state of the art technology and techniques. Our clients needed solutions and we have provided them.
Hawk was a pioneer in the use of the Internet and e-mail alerts. The introduction of the regularly updated Hawk investment profiles has continued to provide unique and valuable exposure for clients that would otherwise be nearly invisible in a Wall Street universe of thousands of listed companies.
Shortly after Hawk was founded, Julie Marshall, a former nuclear engineer with an MBA, joined the company. She was quickly elevated to president and she and Frank formed a partnership that has flourished. Hawk has enjoyed numerous successes with its clients over the succeeding years helping them in a wide variety of ways.
